Xiaomi 16 Pro Max: Leaked Photos Hint at a Secondary Rear Display

Mobile

I've been following the buzz around the Xiaomi 16 series, and if rumors are true, we might be seeing something truly unique. Leaked photos are hinting at a secondary rear display on the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max. While it's hard to say for sure from just a couple of images, the evidence is definitely mounting.

The images, shared by a user on Weibo, appear to show the phone in a protective case. What's interesting is the large cutout on the case, revealing what looks like a blank panel next to the cameras. It makes you wonder why they would leave that area exposed if it wasn't meant to be seen or used. Of course, this could be a clever decoy, but that would be unexpected.

I remember when Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 Ultra. It featured a small rear screen, which I thought was a bit gimmicky. While it allowed you to take selfies with the main camera and displayed notifications, it didn't feel essential. It seems Xiaomi is trying to improve on that, with rumors suggesting that the 16 Pro Max's rear screen could offer more functionality, like app notifications, travel card swiping, exercise tracking, and even AI features.

It would be interesting to see if the new phone comes with a large battery. A recent leak suggests a massive 7,500mAh battery! I can't even imagine the battery life you could get from that! If that's true, it would definitely put it ahead of competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing if this is really a game-changing phone.

If the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max does come with all of these features, I really hope it gets a global release. I think many people would be interested in a phone that pushes the boundaries like this.
