Vivo X300 Series to Feature ZEISS Telephoto Converter Support
It looks like smartphone cameras are about to get a serious upgrade! As someone who's always looking for the next big thing in mobile photography, I'm definitely excited about this. Vivo has announced that its upcoming X300 series will work with its ZEISS telephoto converter, and that's a big deal.
You might remember that this telephoto converter first showed up with the vivo X200 Ultra. Now, it's expanding to the whole X300 lineup, including the base X300 and the X300 Pro. This means more people will have the chance to get some serious zoom capabilities on their phones. I mean, who doesn't love a good zoom lens?
From what I've seen, the X300 will have a silver camera kit to match its lighter color, and the telephoto converter will also come in silver. Meanwhile, the X300 Pro gets a black camera kit with a grip that adds extra dials and buttons. It reminds me of a proper camera setup, which is pretty cool. It seems the grip is exclusive to the Pro model, but you might be able to attach one to the base X300 too. I'm curious to see how that works out.
What about the X300 Ultra? Well, vivo says the whole X300 series will support the ZEISS converter, but they haven't said anything specific about the Ultra. If it does, that's both good and bad news. Good because more camera power, but bad because the lens itself isn't getting any updates. I'm hoping vivo will give us more lens options that work across their phones. After all, variety is the spice of life!
I really think this is a smart move from vivo. By making the telephoto converter compatible with more of their phones, they're giving more people access to professional-level photography tools. It's also a great way to attract camera enthusiasts who want the best possible image quality. It's all scheduled to launch in China on October 13, 2025, and hopefully, it will make its way to other markets too. I'll be keeping an eye out for that!
