There were rumors floating around that Samsung might ditch the Galaxy S26 Plus, possibly replacing it with an "Edge" model. I even remember seeing some hints of this a few months back. But, it looks like the Plus is here to stay!

According to reports, Samsung has kicked off development on a Galaxy S26 series phone codenamed "M Plus." If the inside sources are correct, it points directly to a Galaxy S26 Plus. The project names M1, M2, and M3 are supposedly for the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The report also mentions that the "M Plus" project was recently added. The other projects are still being worked on, which could mean we'll see four different Galaxy S26 models next year. Which is great news if you're a fan of the Plus.

So, why the change of heart? Well, it seems like the sales of the S25 Edge might be the reason. One source claims that Samsung added the "M Plus" project because the Galaxy S25 Edge isn't selling as well as they'd hoped.

Reportedly, the planned production volume for the S25 Edge between September and December is only in the low 300,000s. Now, compare that to the S25 Plus, which has a planned production volume in the low 500,000s for the same period.

What does this all mean? It seems like Samsung isn't so sure that the Galaxy S26 Edge can pull in the kind of sales numbers that the Plus model usually does. And that's saying something, considering the Plus phones are typically the least popular in the Galaxy S lineup.
