OnePlus 15R Reborn: Ace 6T Launches with Monster Battery
So, OnePlus is about to drop the 15R globally later this month, but guess what? If you're in China, you can snag it right now, just under a different name. It's like they couldn't wait to get this awesome piece of tech out there.
What I'm talking about is the OnePlus Ace 6T, which just launched in China. Word on the street is, it'll be re-branded as the OnePlus 15R for the rest of us. What makes this phone stand out? For starters, it's packing a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 – that's some serious processing power.
The screen is also something to talk about. We're looking at a 165Hz OLED display. And let's not forget those IP68/69/69K ratings.
But here's the real kicker: the battery. It's an 8,300mAh silicon-carbon beast! Seriously, that thing is huge. OnePlus claims you're looking at 13.5 hours of navigation, about 10 hours of gaming, or almost 30 hours of video streaming. That’s insane! Plus, it supports 100W SuperVOOC wired charging, so you can juice up from almost dead to 50% in just 23 minutes.
Now, if you're a camera enthusiast, this might be where the phone doesn't quite hit the mark. It's got a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. So, if you're all about that zoom, you might want to look elsewhere. However, it does shoot 4K video at 120fps, which is pretty sweet. And for selfies, there’s a 16MP camera.
Other cool stuff? Bluetooth 6.0, ColorOS 16, even an IR blaster (remember those?). It's also got an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and Wi-Fi 7.
As for the price, the OnePlus Ace 6T starts at around $368 for the base model in China, but there's a launch promotion bringing it down to about $340. You can choose from Black, Green, and Purple. The Black and Green have a glass back, while the Purple goes for a fiberglass finish.
If you are waiting for the global release, mark your calendars for December 17. That's when OnePlus is holding their launch event. While I'm expecting a few tweaks for the global version, I really hope they keep that massive battery. It's a game-changer!
