iOS 26.2 Update: Cool New Features Coming to Your iPhone This December
I'm excited to share some cool updates headed to your iPhone this December with the release of iOS 26.2. It's currently in beta, and from what I'm seeing, there are some interesting tweaks and additions that might just change how you use your phone.
First off, if you're into customizing your Lock Screen, you'll probably appreciate the new Liquid Glass slider. It's all about tweaking the opacity of the clock, so you can make it as clear or as frosted as you like. I think that personalization is really important, as it lets you really make the device your own.
For music lovers, especially those using Apple Music, prepare to be excited! You'll soon be able to access offline lyrics. Yes, you read that right! No more Wi-Fi woes when you want to sing along to your favorite tunes on the go.
I also noted some changes in the Sleep Score feature. Apple seems to be refining how it measures your sleep quality, taking into account not only how long you slept but also the consistency of your sleep schedule and any disturbances during the night.
Alarms for Reminders is also an interesting feature. By selecting the "Urgent" option when setting a time for a reminder, you can ensure that an alarm goes off, making it harder to forget important tasks.
Podcast fans will appreciate the improvements to the Podcasts app, like automatic chapters, timed links, and the ability to see other podcasts mentioned within an episode.
For those who follow the news, a dedicated "Following" tab and quick access buttons for various topics should make navigating the Apple News app a bit easier.
The ability to use your iPhone's screen as a flash for alerts is another feature coming in the new update. For those with hearing impairments, this should be really useful.
Finally, Live Translation on AirPods is expanding to the EU. Imagine being able to understand someone speaking a different language in real-time through your AirPods! It requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer with Apple Intelligence and the Translate app, but it has the potential to be an amazing communication tool, particularly for international collaborations.
