Google Play Store is Making it Easier to Uninstall Apps Across Devices

Mobile Apps

The Google Play Store is key to the Android experience. It's where we get our apps and games, not just on our phones, but also on all the other devices we own. Managing apps across all these devices can be a bit of a hassle.

Currently, if you want to uninstall an app from, say, your tablet using your phone, you have to jump through a few hoops. You need to head into "Manage apps & devices," filter by device, and then finally select the apps to uninstall. It works, but it isn't the most intuitive process. I think we all agree on that.

It looks like Google is working on simplifying this. I've heard whispers that they're testing a new "Uninstall" button directly on the app listing page. Imagine that: you're browsing the Play Store, find an app you want gone from your tablet, and you can uninstall it directly from that app's page. That will save many of us some time.

If you are like me and prefer to uninstall several apps at once, the current method of going through "Manage apps & devices" might still be faster. The new button seems geared toward single-app removal, after all. However, I think that it is a much welcome addition!

Keep in mind that this new button isn't live for everyone yet. I imagine Google is testing it internally before rolling it out to the masses. I am looking forward to that!
