Apple Vision Pro 2: M5 Chip Leaks Suggests Power Upgrade

Technology

We might be closer than we thought to a new and improved Apple Vision Pro! Some interesting code, spotted by eagle-eyed observers, hints that Apple is developing a next-generation Vision Pro powered by the M5 chip. This is pretty exciting news, especially considering the initial speculation surrounding which chip would actually make its way into the device.

There's been a bit of back-and-forth regarding the chip choice. Some analysts predicted the M5, while others suggested Apple might opt for the M4, already found in the latest MacBook Air and iPad Pro models. However, this code leak seems to strongly suggest that Apple is indeed leaning towards the M5 for its next-gen headset. It makes sense; if you're going to upgrade, why not go all out?

From what I gather, the new Vision Pro isn't expected to bring any major design overhauls or hardware changes, besides the significant chip upgrade. However, there's talk of a potentially redesigned strap, aimed at improving comfort during extended use. As someone who values comfort, I can definitely appreciate that. Let's be honest, no matter how cool a gadget is, it's no good if you can't wear it comfortably.

So, when can we expect this new and improved Vision Pro? The current rumors point to a possible launch in late 2025. Of course, these things are always subject to change, but it gives us a timeframe to look forward to. A faster chip and a more comfortable design? I'm definitely intrigued to see what Apple has in store for us.
