Android 17 Dessert Codename: Cheesecake Leads the Poll!
It feels like just yesterday we were getting our hands on Android 16 for Pixel devices, and now, we're already hearing whispers about Android 17! Google's move to Android Canary gives us a sneak peek at upcoming updates, but there's one thing they're keeping under wraps: the dessert codename. And that got me thinking...
If you're anything like me, you enjoy speculating about these things, so I asked the community: What should Android 17 be called? The results are in, and it seems like many of you have a sweet tooth!
Out of nearly 1900 votes, "Cheesecake" emerged as the clear winner, grabbing a whopping 28% of the vote. It's a classic, it's delicious, and frankly, I can see why it resonated with so many. It certainly got my vote!
However, the competition wasn't exactly stale. "Churro" was a strong contender, coming in second with almost 15% of the votes. "Crème Brûlée", "Caramel Custard", and "Cherry Pie" all followed closely behind, proving that you all have excellent taste. Maybe Google should take note!
At the bottom of the list we have "Choco-chip Cookie" with almost 8%, and "Coffee Cake and Crepe" getting 6% each. Clearly, not everyone is a fan of those options.
While Google might not officially announce the internal codename, I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for any hints. You never know when these things might leak!
It's always fun to engage with all of you and see what everyone is thinking. Thanks for participating!
