So, Google finally rolled out the Material 3 Expressive redesign for Android 16 a few months after the initial launch. I've been curious to see what everyone thinks of the changes, and it seems like most folks are digging it!

A recent survey showed that a significant chunk – about 63% - of users are really happy with the new look. That's a pretty solid thumbs-up, if you ask me. It's always a bit of a gamble when you revamp a user interface, but it looks like Google's bet paid off this time around.

People seem to be particularly fond of the customizable quick settings tiles. I get it. Having the ability to resize those buttons is a nice touch and lets you tailor your phone to your specific needs. Customization is always a winner in my book. However, some people were not totally convinced about this new direction.

Of course, you can't please everyone. Around 28% of respondents were on the fence, saying the redesign was just "okay". And a small, but vocal, group – roughly 9% - really didn't like the new look. I've seen some of the complaints floating around, with some users feeling like the design is a step backward. It is always subjective, right?

Despite the naysayers, the overwhelming majority (around 90%) are at least okay with the changes. So, overall, I think it's fair to say that the Material 3 Expressive redesign is a success. It's good to see Google taking risks and trying new things. It doesn't always work out perfectly, but in this case, it seems like they've landed on something that most people appreciate.
